I know that she loved me

    By Cassandra | May 10, 2008

With this being Mother’s Day eve, I wanted to post about my mother. You see, my mom passed away nearly 4 years ago. I still remember the day she passed: I remember getting ready for work, going to the door and saying “Mom, please hold on, I am coming.” I never got the chance. I received the call that she had passed at 7:35am. My sister was crying uncontrollably and my other sister had to tell me. I remember stopping on the side of the highway during morning rush hour in disbelief. It felt as if a huge chunk of my soul was snatched and I couldn’t report it missing. As time goes on, it is getting harder and harder for me to remember the sound of her voice or what she smelled like, but there is one thing that is constant: I know that she loved me. There are some things that I wish I could talk to my mom about, like being a new mom, telling her I got a promotion at my job. She never got the chance to visit my house (I was in the process of buying it when she became ill).

It is true that you are not a woman until your mother has passed away. This is when you have to really apply the teachings. This is when everything becomes crystal clear.
