Longtime XXL Magazine’s EIC Elliot Wilson was let go by his employer, Harris Publication today. Harris’ reason for the pink slip is they wanted “the magazine to go into a different direction in terms of expanding its scope.” Umm…yeah…I think I got it…

Vanessa Satten has been named interim editor-in-chief of the magazine.

A Texas man has been charged with capital murder after killing and eating his girlfriend. Christopher Lee McCuin, 25, notified police that he had killed 21-year old Jana Shearer. When police arrived, they discovered an ear boiling on the stove and a hunk of flesh on a plate with a fork in it.

“We cannot prove that he did,” Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith said Sunday. “He was either going to, had been or led us to think that he was doing it.”

Authorities are unclear if he did consume any flesh.

He is also charged with stabbing his estranged wife’s lover, who is now in intensive care.
